Few things in life can be as uncomfortable as being stuck in a room with true believers. It’s almost irrelevant to the subject matter. When a small nuclear family made up of Dads Eric (Jonathan Groff), Andrew (Ben Aldridge) and daughter Wen (Kristen Cui) have their idyllic and isolated vacation interrupted by four interlopers, things take a turn for the worse.

When the four lay out their beliefs, all involved are anything but comfortable. The gang led by Leonard (Dave Bautista) spin a story of an impending apocalypse that only the three cabin dwellers can prevent. This outrageous assertion is partially backed up by emergency news reports on television that go some way towards making their claims seem true.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>

Jonathan Groff (“Hamilton”, TV’s “Mindhunter”), plays Thomas Anderson’s business partner, a slick, confident corporate type with insouciant charm, a disarming smile and an eye on the bottom line–everything Mr. Anderson is not. Neil Patrick Harris (“Gone Girl”) plays Thomas’ therapist, working closely with his patient to understand the meaning behind his dreams and to distinguish them from reality.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas (TV’s “Quantico”) plays a young woman with a wisdom that belies her years and an ability to see the truth, no matter how murky the waters. And Jada Pinkett Smith (“Angel Has Fallen”, TV’s “Gotham”) returns as Niobe, the fierce General who once fought for the survival of Zion and who now sees to the welfare of her people with a familiar fire in her eyes, despite a sense of disbelief and suspicion upon Neo’s return.

Lana Wachowski directed from a screenplay by Wachowski & David Mitchell & Aleksandar Hemon, based on characters created by The Wachowskis. The film was produced by James McTeigue, Lana Wachowski and Grant Hill. The executive producers were Garrett Grant, Terry Needham, Michael Salven, Karin Wachowski, Jesse Ehrman and Bruce Berman. Wachowski’s creative team behind the scenes included “Sense8” collaborators: directors of photography Daniele Massaccesi and John Toll, production designers Hugh Bateup and Peter Walpole, editor Joseph Jett Sally, costume designer Lindsay Pugh, visual effects supervisor Dan Glass, and composers Johnny Klimek and Tom Tykwer.

The Matrix Resurrections will be released in Aussie cinemas this Boxing Day!

From the fact that almost every other little girl in the audience was dressed as Princess Elsa to the rapt attention that the rest of the young audience demonstrated during the screening, the Frozen phenomenon is something that transcends it being just a movie. The first edition struck a surprisingly universal chord and was very successful at the box office.

Wth the sequel, the filmmakers have increased the spectacle in almost every way. The computer generated visuals are amazing to look at and often times approach photo realism standards.

The story picks up a few years after the first chapter and does its best to flush out a number of elements from before that remained a mystery. As a refresher course, the snowman Olaf (Josh Gad) gives a very funner rundown in how things have arrived at this point in time. The scene was probably wasted on most of the young ones who still have the original in high rotation but it was welcomed none the less.

There are times when the film’s energy is a bit too reliant on its visual spectacle and others when the effort to make it epic leads to a somewhat elongated ride but these moments are few. When Frozen II finally comes out in a home available format, it will be quite the relief for all those parents who have watched the original with their kids too many times to count. Also make sure to stay until the end for a very worthwhile crazy credit moment.
