The Monkey Movie Review
The character in question is a toy monkey who once wound up plays the drums but this rhythmic interlude has a downside and one with fatal consequences. And those vivid fatalities are so imaginatively and comically staged, they almost defy description. You are quarantined to laugh out loud whether you like it or not.

Street Trash Movie Review
Set in a future dystopian version of Cape Town, Sound Africa, the mayor of that not-so-fair city runs it with an iron fist. He has come up with a radical and permanent solution for dealing with the overabundant and militant homeless population. One of his plans is to create drones that cruise the run-down areas of the sprawling metropolis and spay the homeless with an aerosol version of the above-mentioned day glow substance. This plan is not his only one.

Year 10 Movie Review
Early on Jake comes across as timid and overwhelmed by the reduction of humanity to basic survival. When his father (Duncan Lacroix) is murdered by marauders, Jake’s world is further reduced to just one person, his female friend played by Hannah Khalique-Brown. This brings out a survival instinct that was little known to him until this time.

Becoming Led Zeppelin Movie Review
One of the stand-out features is how amazing the sound is on the live clips and the separation of the instruments is superb. Bassist John Paul Jones’ low-end output floats in isolated space and drummer Bonham’s kit is fully revealed. It’s amazing how he got such a powerful low-frequency sound with only a single bass drum. Bonzo as he was affectionately known was such a powerhouse and the film fully reveals that.

10 Lives Movie Review
His acting voice gives Beckett an excellent blend of nonchalance and misplaced bravado. He has gotten used to getting his way and it shows. He was adopted by Rose (Simone Ashley) a young lady whose main interest lies in the preservation of bee colonies. Life has been good and Beckett has grown from a tiny kitten into a rotund adult cat. Even with age on his side he remains spoiled rotten.

Companion Movie Review
One can also safely discuss its cast, one that includes Jack Quaid of The Boys fame, whose ability to effectively play someone clueless is used to full effect here but not in the way you would think. Equally, Sophie Thatcher whose character in the hit TV show Yellowjackets is known for her resourcefulness gets to play opposite traits until…

A Complete Unknown Movie Review
Reducing a long professional life down into a much heralded and singular event also pays dividends as it helps the film keep focus. The event in question was Dylan’s performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival when he outraged the crowd by delivering an electric and rock-oriented set to the folkies. Little did the crowd on that night know what a pivotal event that would become in musical history.

The Brutalist Movie Review
It is the kind of work that asks much from its audience. It cleverly sets up the initial elements of the back story with a tilted view from Ellis Island at the Statue Of Liberty. The huddled masses are easily identified as post-World War II immigrants still shell-shocked by the horrors that they endured during that great war.

American Dreamer Movie Review
Phil, a down-on-his-luck professor of economics, lives his life well lubricated by drink and charged by dreams of a better life—a life that remains elusively just out of reach. He might be astute or just shy of a full deck, and Dinklage is so charming in the role that you don’t really care which description is an accurate fit.

Conclave Movie Review
German director Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front) masterfully weaves intertwining storylines to create an ever-shifting narrative. As soon as you think you have a handle on who has the power, the focus shifts and realigns your attention. This approach remains consistent until the end of the final reel.
