In her final film role before her tragic and untimely death, the late Anne Heche delivers a compelling and unforgettable performance as a no-nonsense sheriff in this taut thriller.

In What Remains, a small-town pastor is forced to reckon with his own act of forgiveness, when the convict he forgave for murdering his wife returns to town five years later and comes to work for him, deeply angering his son. Meanwhile, a young couple’s desert getaway takes a terrifying turn when they are targeted by a cult that follows the murderous practices of the infamous Manson Family, leaving them in a terrifying fight for survival. And as the local sheriff investigates another murder that may be connected to the cult’s activities, she uncovers a web of secrets that threatens to unravel the whole town.

Starring Anne Heche (Supercell, 13 Minutes, The Vanished), Kellan Lutz (Twilight, Come Out Fighting, TVs FBI: Most Wanted), and Cress Williams (TVs Black Lightning, Crime Story), WHAT REMAINS is produced by Ralph Winter (X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer).

The film has been praised for its gripping narrative and strong performances, especially Heche’s final role, which Nerdly compared to “the same strength and gravitas as Frances McDormand in Fargo”, while The Austin Chronicle claimed it was “an example of what can happen when filmmakers tackle tough issues head on”, and Film Threat called it “A well-constructed, engaging film where emotions run high and deep. Heche delivers a very compelling and believable performance.”
