Palace Centro Cinemas plays host this weekend to muggles at Potterfest, a marathon celebrating 20 years since the publication of the first novel. After selling out sessions across the country and almost 3 screenings in Brisbane, there’s high demand for the last few seats available for October 7. Commencing this Saturday, September 23 and continuing September 30 and October 7, fans will not be disappointed with the fun in store.
Brisbane Potter fans will take the 9 3/4 Platform Express to James Street. Honeydukes Express candybar will be operating with Butter Beer, Bertie Botts, House-themed choc tops, hot toasties, Lavazza Barista Coffee & more. How does a poor old muggle prepare for such a spectacle? The ultimate guide to surviving Potterfest has been released and is available here.
The twenty-three hour marathon will show the eight Harry Potter films, beginning with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and will include a screening of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them that released late last year, starring the talented Eddie Redmayne.
Based on British author J.K. Rowling’s bestselling fantasy novels, the Harry Potter film series chronicles the life of a young wizard, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and his friends Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The story centres around Harry’s struggle against Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who intends to subjugate the wizarding world.
The sequel for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is due to open on Palace screens, next year.
Tickets are $45 for an adult, $38 for concession and $35 for Movie Club members.
