Every July, the Teneriffe Festival enlivens and transforms the suburb with a bold celebration of the community and everything from the past right through to the future that makes it unique.
Owned and delivered by Teneriffe Festival Incorporated – who are a volunteer board of professionals living and operating businesses in the community – the Teneriffe Festival seeks to cement the area’s reputation as a destination for exceptional dining and entertaining experiences, unique historical perspectives, cultural and innovative diversity and iconic lifestyle and design. The Festival engages culture-savvy Brisbanites and entices visitors into the community. A plethora of activities and experiences such as the Tastes of Teneriffe, historical installations, film, fashion and art – along with unique dining and drinking experiences – will fill the Teneriffe Festival’s programme and talk to a variety of audiences.
The event program is kaleidoscopic in its diversity, from historical to contemporary; from folk music through to punk rock; health and fitness through to cheese, champagne and oysters…We strive to create a one-day event that really does have something for everyone – regardless of age or tastes. The Festival attracts approximately 50,000 people, all keen to wander the riverside streets and hidden laneways, discovering our carefully curated programme of entertainment and street acts, local restaurants and food vendors, market stalls and displays, a glorious Kids Zone and dozens of community groups.
More than any other local event, the Teneriffe Festival defines our community’s personality. For over eight years we have presented both local and international artists and personalities who guarantee headlines, and whose presence adds to the Festival’s buzz and prestige. Similarly, we have partnered with some of the most reputable corporate brands in Australia and developed wonderful relationships with these entities that are mutually beneficial.
The Teneriffe Festival’s audacious contemporary programming positions it at the forefront of community events within Queensland and we personally think it’s up there as one of the most wonderful festivals in the world!
