Emma & the Hungry Truth – Feast on You at JWCOCA
The brainchild of internationally-acclaimed singer-songwriter Emma Dean, Emma & the Hungry Truth are a sight to behold when performing live. Their musicianship and camaraderie is only matched by their fierce stagecraft and otherworldly aesthetic.
Sonically, the band consists of piano, synth, drum kit, cello, electric guitar, violin and vocals. Group tribal drumming compounds their cutting-edge sound, which is coloured with obscure instruments including theremin, glockenspiel and clap ...
Fantastic Four Movie Review
Despite its incredibly successful Marvel brethren, this Fantastic Four is yet another dud, albeit a dud with a $200 million dollar budget.
The story is fantastically linear: we follow genius, Reed Richards, from childhood as he meets each of the characters who we know will become part of the Four as well as the guy we know is destined to be the villain, Victor von Doom (with a name like that, how could he not turn bad?).
Usually in an instance like this the structure of the film would ...

Ginger Meggs: Australia’s Favourite Boy Exhibition
Ginger Meggs first appeared in the Us fellers comic strip in Sydney’s Sunday Sun newspaper in 1921, and he and his gang – including girlfriend, Minnie Peters, and arch nemesis, Tiger Kelly – have kept us company ever since.
This mischievous Australian icon was created by James ‘Jimmy’ Bancks. With his instantly recognisable red hair, shorts and shoes, his larrikin charms and endless ability to get himself into and out of trouble, ‘Ginge’, as he was affectionately known, ...
Judy Strikes Back at JWCOCA
Asked about writing her autobiography, Judy Garland stated: “When you’ve lived the life I’ve lived, when you’ve loved and suffered, and been madly happy and desperately sad – well, that’s when you realise you’ll never be able to set it all down. Maybe you’d rather die first.”
And die she did. In 1969.
But now she’s finally done it, her autobiography is hot off the heavenly presses and she wants to share it with you! This is the come back to end all come backs. ...
Trainwreck Movie Review
The story set up is about a woman in the big city not looking for love but finding it anyway. She is comfortable turning around traditional rom-com situations in regards to male and female behaviour for the discomfort of some audience members. She also succeeds in giving the film a big heart amongst all the relationship carnage.
The way Schumer resolves the final situation is most unexpected and proves her comic ability to think outside the box. It’s a fantastic resolution and way to ...

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation Movie Review
Firstly this edition, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation puts storyline characterization on the back burner as it ramps up the action. These are real live stunts, not ones dependent on CGI and as such the film’s action sequences provide the big bang factor. In comparison to the film’s main rivals, the Bond and Bourne franchises, having Cruise on board with his bravery on overdrive creates some extremely crazy moments to view.
This approach makes for an at times spectacular experience ...
