In a remote Australian town, terror takes the form of Rippy, a giant Zombie Kangaroo with a taste for flesh.

As the undead-roo leaves a trail of carnage in its wake, the only hope lies in local police officer Maddy.

This is going to end badly. With The Dead Don’t Die, writer and director Jim Jarmusch attempts to turn the zombie genre on its ear. With a pace that is far from brisk, no real zombie activity until almost 3/4 of the way through the film, tearing the forth wall asunder and focusing on a big battle for the throne, it’s a decidedly challenging view.

Who will come out on top of the battle for best dry line delivery in the business? In this corner the reigning champion, William James Murray and in this corner the new leader pretend, Adam Douglas Driver. With lines so dry you can practically see the dust in the air, the two go head to head. And the winner is? Sorry you’ll just have to see the film.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>//

As things usually unfold in these adventures, the school is soon overrun and then the rest of the film becomes an example of survival of the fittest. Anna along with some friends and not so friends have to overcome hardship, the undead and a psycho principal, played by a very over the top Paul Kaye, to try to reunite with her father, who works at the school as a janitor.

While the film runs out of ideas before the final credits roll and the songs featured in the film’s first half are the stronger tunes, the ride is still an amusing one. Add this to the holiday film list that includes Bad Santa, Rare Export, Black Christmas and Krampus.

Our greatest threat is our only hope.

In a dystopian near future, humanity has been ravaged by a mysterious fungal disease. The afflicted are robbed of all free will and turned into flesh-eating ‘hungries’. Humankind’s only hope is a small group of hybrid children who crave human flesh but retain the ability to think and feel.

The children go to school at an army base in rural Britain, where they’re subjected to cruel experiments by Dr. Caroline Caldwell (Glenn Close). School teacher Helen Justineau (Gemma Arterton) grows particularly close to an exceptional girl named Melanie (Sennia Nanua), thus forming a special bond.
