Brisbane Writers Festival announces 2019 program!
In recognition of the UN Year of Indigenous Languages, this year the Festival will explore the powerful ways in which Australia’s traditional custodians convey story, both now and in the past.

Brisbane Writers Festival 2017
New for Festival audiences in 2017 is a live literature experience, bringing to life Alexis Wright’s seminal novel Carpentaria through a large-scale interpretive artwork by Gordon Hookey. Audiences will be immersed in the world of Carpentaria through a program of performance, storytelling and talks exploring Indigenous art, history and culture.
