When Charlie’s Angels hits cinemas this November – for the first time in the entire history of the franchise, films and television, directed by a woman, Elizabeth Banks – the new Angels will move to the beat of Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Rey as Republic Records and Sony Pictures Entertainment release their song “Don’t Call Me Angel (Charlie’s Angels)” and the song’s official music vide
o.

The track, which features co-writing credits from all three of the artists, was recently featured in the film’s trailer and is the lead single from the upcoming Charlie’s Angels (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). The soundtrack is co-executive produced by Ariana Grande, Savan Kotecha, and Scooter Braun and will be available November 1, 2019 via Republic Records, two weeks prior to the film’s November 14, 2019 release.

Director Elizabeth Banks stated, “It was important to me to kick off Charlie’s Angels with a huge female-powered anthem driven by a big voice – but to get three of the biggest voices out there? It’s a dream come true! What Ariana, Miley and Lana have delivered surpasses even my high expectations. Their song is resonant and meaningful, and it kicks major ass.”

“Don’t Call Me Angel (Charlie’s Angels)” features three of the best voices in music who have joined forces to deliver this undeniably empowering, female-focused collaboration. “Don’t Call Me Angel (Charlie’s Angels)” is written by Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, Ilya Salmanzadeh, and Alma-Sofia Miettinen. Producers are Max Martin & ILYA for Max Martin Productions. The song was first teased in the movie’s official worldwide trailer earlier this year to a flood of speculation and excitement amongst media and fans.

Charlie’s Angels will be released in Australian cinemas November 14.

Set in Tasmania in 1825, The Nightingale delivers an adventure of epic proportions. Confronting and unafraid to push the viewer to the edge of repulsion, it will most certainly leave its mark in your grey matter.

Clare (Aisling Franciosi) is a young Irish convict who chases Hawkins (Sam Claflin) a repugnant British Officer across the Tasmanian wilderness in an act of revenge. Hawkins and some of his men have perpetrated unthinkable horrors upon Clare and her young family.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>//

Clare enlists the help of Billy (Baykali Ganambarr), an Aboriginal tracker to aid in her quest. During their journey they learn to respect each other as they witness horrible savagery foisted upon the native Aboriginals by the white settlers. This is accomplished in a very unflinching way.

Writer/director Jennifer Kent follows up her film The Babadook with an amazingly powerful work that is unafraid to take sides and show the atrocities carried out on both the Aboriginal and convict populations of that period. While it is at times incredibly challenging to watch, it provides a great reward for those that are up to the task.

A powerful and beautifully crafted Australian story, THE NIGHTINGALE has received critical acclaim and captivated audiences around the world. The film premiered at Venice Film Festival 2018, where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize and Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Performer, before screening at Sundance Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival London and has been selected to screen at the upcoming Melbourne International Film Festival. The highly anticipated second feature film from Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), THE NIGHTINGALE releases nationally on August 29, 2019.

Written and Directed by Jennifer Kent, THE NIGHTINGALE is a meditation on the consequences of violence and the price of seeking vengeance. Set during the colonisation of Australia in 1825, the film follows Clare (Aisling Franciosi) as she chases a British officer (Sam Claflin) through the rugged Tasmanian wilderness, bent on revenge for a terrible act of violence he committed against her family. On the way she enlists the services of an Aboriginal tracker named Billy (Baykali Ganambarr), who is also marked by trauma from his own violence-filled past.

This film is a powerful indictment of the insanities of war and also a fine example of the art of filmmaking. It is amazingly effective at establishing the sense of claustrophobia and impending doom that those poor soldiers must have felt stuck in those horrible trenches in France during World War I.

The acting is superlative to a man. Sam Claflin as the company’s leader, Captain Stanhope, shows the signs of what is now known as PTSD. He has witnessed too much horror and experienced too much loss to continue as a well functioning human being.

Then there is Asa Butterfield as the fresh faced Second Lieutenant Raleigh, he just out of boot camp and yet to experience the horrors of war. His story arch is an especially tragic one. Paul Bettany as Lieutenant Osborne is also excellent.

It’s the fine details that make the experience of the film so impactful. The artillery shells used as candle holders, the large collection of dead rats nailed to a board or even the actor’s faces illuminated only by flickering candle light. It is easy to feel involved in their dreadful plight. The memory of this film burns its way into your mind and its ultimate tragedy will break your heart.

Jennifer Kent’s THE NIGHTINGALE has won the Special Jury Prize at the 2018 Venice Film Festival, with newcomer Baykali Ganambarr also receiving the Marcello Mastroianni Award for best new young performer.

THE NIGHTINGALE, which enjoyed its world premiere on September 6 in Venice, was the only female-directed film to screen in competition at the festival. On receiving the Special Jury Prize over the weekend, Kent said “To all those women out there wanting to make films, please go and do it, we need you.”

THE NIGHTINGALE is Ganambarr’s first performance onscreen, where he stars in a lead role as Billy. He is a passionate dancer and actor, and performs with the internationally acclaimed Djuki Mala dance group.

Set in 1825, Clare, a young Irish convict woman, chases a British officer through the rugged Tasmanian wilderness, bent on revenge for a terrible act of violence he committed against her family. On the way she enlists the services of an Aboriginal tracker named Billy, who is also marked by trauma from his own violence-filled past. THE NIGHTINGALE stars Aisling Franciosi (Game of Thrones) and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games) alongside Australia’s Baykali Ganambarr, Damon Herriman (Justified, Breaking Bad), Harry Greenwood (Hacksaw Ridge) and Ewen Leslie (Sweet Country).

This is the second year in a row an Australian film has been awarded the Special Jury Prize at the festival, with Warwick Thornton’s SWEET COUNTRY taking home the coveted prize in 2017. The film went on to make over $2 million dollars at the Australian box office.

“The Nightingale is a powerful and important story, one that we feel privileged to be working on. For the filmmaking team and newcomer Baykali Ganambarr to receive this recognition on the international stage is wonderful,” said Transmission Films Joint Managing Directors Andrew Mackie and Richard Payten.

THE NIGHTINGALE premieres in Australia on 13th October at the Adelaide Film Festival, with tickets now on sale. THE NIGHTINGALE will release nationally in Australia in 2019.

Based on a true story, Adrift shows how resilient humans can be when faced with incredibly long odds just to survive. Richard Sharp (Sam Claflin) and Tami Oldham (Shailene Woodley) are two free-spirited individuals who meet, fall in love and take a job together sailing a friend’s sailboat from Tahiti To San Diego, California.

What ensues is a tale of human resolve, the longing for a permanent connection with a loved one and the heights one can achieve when their life is on the line. The events leading up to this moment are told in a mix of back story and future events.

The story is effectively told with frighteningly intense storm scenes that are contrasted with the squalor of surviving on an almost completely destroyed ship and the carefree actions of two young lovers in the paradise that is Tahiti. Their love and emotions form the basis of a survival story that is quite moving.
