A Christmas musical that features pop songs and the walking dead? As a lover of unconventional Xmas films, sign me up. How do things turn our for the main protagonists in this Glee meets Shawn Of The Dead mash up?

First it must be said that high school is difficult enough without having to deal with a rampant plague of zombies. And while not much happens in the quiet town of Little Haven and Anna (Ella Hunt) and her fiends are used to the quiet life, things are about to change for the worse when they start to notice the colour drain from their classmate’s faces.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>

As things usually unfold in these adventures, the school is soon overrun and then the rest of the film becomes an example of survival of the fittest. Anna along with some friends and not so friends have to overcome hardship, the undead and a psycho principal, played by a very over the top Paul Kaye, to try to reunite with her father, who works at the school as a janitor.

While the film runs out of ideas before the final credits roll and the songs featured in the film’s first half are the stronger tunes, the ride is still an amusing one. Add this to the holiday film list that includes Bad Santa, Rare Export, Black Christmas and Krampus.

Thanks to Brisbane Immersive we have one double-pass to give away to Cluedo! The Interactive Game: The Christmas Edition! Each ticket includes Cluedo! The Interactive Game, authentic 1930s live jazz band, cocktail appertisers, christmas buffet feast, chocolatier’s station, an unlimited beverage package, seasonal decor and one dastardly murder!

Was it Professor Plum, in the conservatory with the candlestick, or Miss Scarlett, in the billiard room with the dagger?

Cluedo, the adored murder-mystery board game, comes to life in Brisbane for an immersive evening of twists, turns, melodrama and bloody execution on December 8 where audience guests are called upon to collect the clues and solve the crime.

The scene of the scandal is Fortitude Valley heritage gem Baedeker Wine Bar, the suspects a cohort of lavishly-costumed characters and aiding Doctor Black’s investigation is an intrepid group of dinner guests.

Cluedo! The Interactive Game is part-immersive theatre, part-1930’s cocktail party where the audience shapes the production as much as the actors, returning for one night only following a sold-out season in April.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>//

Brisbane Immersive ensemble director Ben Lynskey said this decadent restaging had a Christmas theme and included a festive feast, unlimited drinks, 1930’s jazz band and sprigs of deadly mistletoe decking the halls of the Baedeker.

“When you step through those doors, you will step back in time to another world; a lavish cocktail party in an exquisite estate with hidden passages and grand ballrooms, and hosting the cream of 1930’s high society,” Mr Lynskey said.

“You can dress up and become an entirely different person for the night, if you choose. Sure, one of your fellow dinner guests will be unmasked as a murderer, but I guarantee this is a wickedly fun night out.”

Brisbane Immersive artistic director Xanthe Jones said Cluedo! The Interactive Game: The Christmas Edition was an all-inclusive gala experience taking place across one bloodthirsty evening.

“This will be the final opportunity Brisbane’s amateur sleuths have to deduce ‘whodunnit?’ this year but we’re already plotting our return for another season of Cluedo! The Interactive Game in 2019,” Ms Jones said.

“I suspect this won’t be the last we see of the likes of Colonel Mustard, Madame Peacock and Reverend Green.”

Cluedo! The Interactive Game: The Christmas Edition
With a cave rigged with inventions and contraptions for his day-to-day needs, the Grinch only sees his neighbors in Whoville when he runs out of food.

With this festive season upon us, one must prepare for mistletoe missteps; holiday office party disasters and hopefully some seriously messed up Christmas films. The Night Before doesn’t hold back in any way, shape or form and can easily be added to that list of X-Mas essentials like Bad Santa, Black Christmas, Rare Exports and Santa’s Slay (will Bill Goldberg ever get recognized as the awesomely bad actor he is?).

We have a tradition around these parts in putting a concentrated effort into scaring off our guests with warped movie playlists, eggnog with only booze and no nog and a black and yellow Christmas tree (a left over cinema display from Seinfeld’s grand folly, Bee Movie). Every year we add to the Kringle cruel collection but it’s been years since a movie this f&$%ed up has joined the mad menagerie.

The Night Before has just about everything to guaranty holiday good cheer, drugs, booze, tawdry sex in bathrooms, drug dealing angels, pugilist Santa’s, more drugs and Miley Cyrus. Oh and did I forget to mention the overabundance of cringe worthy moments and James Franco’s penis?

If you only see one Christmas movie this season, make sure it’s The Night Before. I want major box office success that breeds many sequels so our collection of twisted treats can grow year after year after year.

We have ten double in season passes to give away to Love the Coopers, a hilarious and heart-warming Christmas comedy staring Diane Keaton, John Goodman, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Ed Helms and Alan Arkin – to name a few!

The holiday season comes but once a year – and that’s more than enough for the Cooper family. In this hilarious and heartwarming comedy, the family brace themselves for their annual Christmas Eve celebration. With her marriage on the rocks, Charlotte Cooper (Diane Keaton) has just one wish – to bring the whole family together for one last perfect Christmas. But with grand plans to rekindle the spark in their relationship, Charlotte’s husband Sam (John Goodman) is determined to use the holiday season to win her back. They aren’t the only ones trying to conceal the less than perfect aspects of their lives. Their perennially single daughter Eleanor (Olivia Wilde) persuades a charming soldier (Jake Lacy) she meets at the airport to pose as her boyfriend, and their son Hank (Ed Helms) is struggling with single parenthood. Meanwhile, Charlotte’s sister Emma (Marisa Tomei) has a run-in with the law on the day of the gathering. From the producers of The Family Stone, and boasting an all-star cast, Love the Coopers is a fun, riotous ride through the joy and chaos of Christmas… and nobody does chaos quite like the Coopers.
