The triple j unearthed finalist dropped ‘Laika’ the first single off the EP, earlier this year, which was described by Pilerats as “an insanely mature mix of shining synths, tiger-tight drums and softly jangling guitars, all underpinned by that smooth-as-silk voice”. The track scored a high rotation addition on triple j and Davidson performed an incredible rendition on the stations ‘Like A Version’ segment as well as a grooved-up rework of Childish Gambino’s ‘Sober’.
Davidson’s burgeoning online presence has seen his music amass over 1.8 million streams via SoundCloud and Spotify. His collaboration as guest vocalist on Japanese Wallpaper’s track ‘Between Friends’ came in at #97 in this year’s triple j’s Hottest 100. Jesse also recently worked with Luke Millions, an unexpected collab, to which he leant his voice to space disco epic ‘Fear The Night’.
He started 2015 with a performance at Laneway Festival in his hometown of Adelaide and Groovin’ The Moo before heading overseas to the UK to showcase alongside fellow Aussies Little May, DMA’s and Holy Holy at The Great Escape emerging artists festival.
