Takumi and his daughter Hana live in Mizubiki Village, close to Tokyo. Like generations before them, they live a modest life according to the cycles and order of nature.

One day, the village inhabitants become aware of a plan to build a glamping site near Takumi’s house; offering city residents a comfortable ‘escape’ to nature.

When two company representatives from Tokyo arrive in the village to hold a meeting, it becomes clear that the project will have a negative impact on the local water supply, causing unrest.

Nothing Beats the Sunday Cinema Experience!

Spend your Sunday afternoon with us at Dendy Cinemas, indulging in quality independent film and a glass of Babich wine in hand.

Dendy Coorparoo & Dendy Portside will be presenting Sunday afternoon Preview Screenings of SWANG SONG at 5pm on Sunday, 12 December, and BERGMAN ISLAND at 4pm on Sunday, 19 December.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>//

The award-winning SWAN SONG is a comical and bittersweet journey about rediscovering one’s sparkle and looking gorgeous while doing so. Legendary actor Udo Kier stars as retired hairdresser Pat Pitsenbarger, who escapes the confines of his small-town nursing home and embarks on an odyssey to confront the ghosts of his past.

BERGMAN ISLAND (Palme d’Or Nominee 2021) follows a couple of American filmmakers, Chris (Vicky Krieps) and Tony (Tim Roth), who retreat to the mythical island for the summer. In this wild, breathtaking landscape where Bergman lived and shot his most celebrated pieces, they hope to find inspiration for their upcoming films but lines between reality and fiction will then progressively blur and tear our couple even more apart.
