Arriving in a white-hot flurry of hard earned hype, Xan has enlisted inner-west Sydney’s very own unapologetically vicious and volatile hip-hop group Triple One to lead the charge with their brash raps and haunting hooks, setting the stage alight as their demonic spirit comes to life in fiery form.

Triple One have accumulated a cult following, with signature singles ‘Doozy’ and ‘Overflow’ surpassing 1 million views on YouTube. They also boast a strong global presence with 380,000 monthly Spotify listeners tuning in from North America, Eastern Europe and their own native Australia.

In 2018, the group followed it up with their most diverse offering yet in The Naughty Corner EP, spearheaded by sadistic lead single ‘Redline Reaper’ and the daintier ‘Tarlo.’ The latter was added to rotation on triple j Unearthed and full rotation on triple j, gaining additional praise from FBi Radio, Purple Sneakers, Pilerats, Highsnobiety and more. Lil Xan has teamed up with Charlie XCX to release the latest video for their collab track ‘Moonlight’, lifted from his debut album TOTAL XANARCHY. The record features spots from the likes of Charli XCX, Diplo and 2 Chainz, and has enticed devotion from millions of young Americans. Clocking up nearly 1 million views in its first 12 hours of release, lead single ‘Betrayed’ laid the foundations for Lil Xan to become one of 2018’s most popular new artists.

Lord Huron was last in Australia for Bluesfest in 2016, and a sold out run of headline dates to support the release of their break out album Strange Trails (2015) which included the hit single ‘The Night We Met‘ as feature in the Netflix show 13 Reasons Why.

Joining Lord Huron for main support at both Sydney and Melbourne shows is 19-year-old Albany-born singer-songwriter Carla Geneve, who 2017 bursting through the WA scene with her unique brand of brutally honest indie/folk and captivating live show, which saw Carla named as Pilerats’ One To Watch in 2018, triple j Unearthed feature artist, winning the inaugural Mojo Rising Band Competition, and taking out the Best Regional Act at the WAM Award.

New record Vide Noir was written and recorded over the past two years at Lord Huron’s Los Angeles studio and informal clubhouse, Whispering Pines, and was mixed by Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips / MGMT). In conjunction with the album announcement, the band released ‘Ancient Names (Part I)’ and ‘Ancient Names (Part II)’, which received critical praise from NPR Music and SPIN who called them, “an eerie, unresolved tale of a crystal ball vision that amplifies the band’s characteristic thematic darkness into distorted garage rock.”

Howard is much loved for his gorgeously emotive vignettes, which has seen him amass a large following of fans across Australia over the past seven years. Noonday Dream will be his first release in nearly four years since 2014’s No.1 album, I Forget Where, and is slated to hit airwaves in June 2018 – only a month or so before this anticipated performance.

In the past, Band of Horses founder and leader Ben Bridwell would literally run away from home to write: Holing up in a secluded cabin or other such remote location, emerging months later with new songs for his band to flesh out and fully animate. This time-whether by happenstance or conscious need for a drastic change-Ben stayed home to write. In the estrogen-charged atmosphere of a home shared with his wife and four-yes, four–daughters he allowed his everyday experiences to inform his process. Between dropping off and picking up the girls, changing diapers, and playing dress up, Bridwell spent every precious free minute-often the wee hours on the morning into daybreak–in his garage writing.

While Bridwell and his bandmates – Tyler Ramsey, Ryan Monroe, Creighton Barrett and Bill Reynolds-convened in South Carolina alongside producer Jason Lytle (Grandaddy), Bridwell struggled to bring the new material into focus. One day, at a particularly crucial part of the recording process Ben’s phone rang. It was Rick Rubin-who’d randomly heard a Band of Horses song on the radio during a drive, and had been moved to pull over and call. Without going into details, Bridwell can’t stress the value of this phone call enough. It was exactly the final push that his songs needed on their journey from conception to being sent out into the world.

The result is Band of Horses‘ fifth studio album, Why Are You OK, a record informed by experience and at the same time retaining the vulnerability that birthed their greatest songs. Creating capsule worlds populated by the strange but true cast of characters from Bridwell’s hometown Charleston, SC, Why Are You OK’s songs combined universal sentiments with Bridwell’s patented knack for storytelling-all wrapped in the lush melodic textures that have long been the bedrock of Band of Horses’ signature sound.

Why Are You OK is set for release in June via Interscope Records/ Universal Music Australia. The album was produced by Jason Lytle, Executive Produced by Rick Rubin and mixed by Dave Fridmann.

The Wombats originally made their Splendour debut in 2008 with songs from their killer debut album ‘A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation’. Joining the blur on the bill will be very special guest Jamie T, one of the most distinctive voices to come out of the UK in the past decade. Announcing their arrival with debut album ‘Leisure’ in 1991 and follow up release ‘Modern Life Is Rubbish’ (1993), blur revolutionised the sound of English popular music. Five successive UK #1 albums followed – with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity around the world with tracks like  ‘Parklife’, ‘Girls & Boys’, ‘Country House’ and of course hit single Song 2’.

It’s been 16 years since blur’s last album as a four piece and 27th April sees the release of the band’s critically acclaimed eighth studio album ‘The Magic Whip’. The recordings, which began during a five-day break in touring in Spring 2013 – at Avon Studios in Kowloon, Hong Kong – were put aside when the group finished touring and returned to their respective lives.   Last November Graham Coxon revisited the tracks and, drafting in blur’s early producer Stephen Street, he worked with the band on the material. Albarn then added lyrics and the 12 tracks of The Magic Whip are the result.

In 2013 Blur toured across Europe and South America – also taking in a headline set at Coachella that resulted in rapturous reviews – proving to Blur fans around the world that the English lads still have what it takes to put on an explosive live performance.

Its been almost five years since the spiky, globally-informed, occasionally grisly and proudly Clash-influenced “Kings And Queens” album reached No.2 in the UK charts, inspiring the critics to anoint the then-24-year-old Jamie ‘a rare, cocksure talent’ (BBC) and ‘a national institution’ (NME), and almost four since he last graced a concert stage. THE TIPI FOREST is a Splendour institution, a rite of passage, a wormhole and an unmitigated awesome fun time! Head to The Tipi Forest across the Splendour weekend for a mammoth mash of underground sounds and alternative beats from an array of Byron’s best electronic Producers and DJs!

Every year since the inaugural event SPLENDOUR ARTS has pushed the Splendour experience further! With a program that spans the length and breadth of the site, its unexpected installations delight, confound and sometimes just look really cool. Who could forget Patricia Piccinini’s magnificent Sky Whale soaring over the site last year! Splendour Arts makes memories! Stay tuned for details about what they’ll dream up this year!

Tiny Dancer is not Splendour’s only new addition! In 2015 Splendour is reconfiguring the onsite campgrounds to include The Meadow a family friendly camping zone where you can set up your kit with your kids, surrounded by other young families. In addition to this our festival for the littlest punters, LITTLE SPLENDOUR, will be going totally ham this year with a tipi area for parents and babies, mega sandpit, music garden, a story telling tipi with character visits from fairies, pirates and princesses, littlies’ jumping castle and an art and craft zone called the Artie Fartie Partie. The bigger kids will also be kept busy with a climbing wall, ropes course, sports and games, a jumping castle and giant board games. Plus during the day there’s also arts, craft, music, dance, clowning workshops, balloon twisting, juggling, facepainting and a huge circus tent with performances, comedy acts, magicians, puppet shows and more fun than you can poke a pogo stick at!  What’s that? You wanna go to Little Splendour too? You can’t! You have to be 0 – 15 years.

Plus there’s RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY, MISS SAIGON KARAOKE, SING FOR YOUR SUPPER (buskers stage), eclectic MARKETS and a vast array of CULINARY DELIGHTS including no less than three food halls and The Truck Stop featuring a bunch of Australia’s best food trucks. Keen for a tipple? Why not hit the SMIRNOFF COCKTAIL BAR with a different club each and every night. Or if you’re feeling a bit fancy you can head along to the MOET CHAMPAGNE BAR.
