Beginning Monday September 3rd , Dendy Portside are set to host a Cult Classic film from the 30’s and 40’s every Monday until November 26th. Some titles include Dark Victory, All Quiet on the Western Front, The Women, The Third Man, The Lost Weekend and many more.

Cinema-goers can attend either a 10:00am or 6:30pm session of each film every Monday and the season will run for three months until the end of November. On Monday 28th May, Dendy Coorparoo is set to host a retro screening of Stanley Kubrick’s ‘masterpiece of modern horror’ – The Shining.

Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) becomes winter caretaker at the isolated Overlook Hotel in Colorado, hoping to cure his writer’s block. He settles in along with his wife, Wendy (Shelley Duvall), and his son, Danny (Danny Lloyd), who is plagued by psychic premonitions.

As Jack’s writing goes nowhere and Danny’s visions become more disturbing, Jack discovers the hotel’s dark secrets and begins to unravel into a homicidal maniac hell-bent on terrorizing his family.?
