Veruca Salt’s signature hit ‘Seether’ remains one of the most-loved rock tunes of the ’90s. Not surprisingly, the band experienced a meteoric rise, doing everything a young band coming of age in the grunge era could hope for – selling more than a million records, touring with alt-rock royalty Hole and PJ Harvey, and winning critical acclaim for albums like American Thighs (named after an AC/DC lyric).

After breaking up in 1998, the original line-up – Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Jim Shapiro and Steve Lack – re-formed in 2013 and were warmly welcomed back on stage. In 2015 they released their fifth studio album Ghost Notes, the first to feature the band’s original line-up since 1997’s Eight Arms To Hold You:

‘AS COMEBACKS GO, IT’S PERFECT.’ – MAGNET

‘GORDON AND POST HAVEN’T MISSED A BEAT. IN FACT, THEY MIGHT BE BETTER THAN EVER.’ – NOW MAGAZINE

In the live arena, Veruca Salt’s reputation was made through performances marked by energy, passion and verve – qualities that will once again be on display during this tour. Act quickly to secure your tickets!

Alt-rock pioneers Garbage return to Australia this November, touring in celebration of their acclaimed sixth studio album Strange Little Birds (out now via Liberator Music/STUNVOLUME Records).

These will be the Garbage’s first Australian shows since 2013 and first Wollongong show in 17 years. Joined by Melbourne’s own Tiny Little Houses as special guests, Garbage will play Melbourne’s Regent Theatre on Thursday 24 November and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, with Olympia on Friday 2 December.

In addition to Melbourne and Sydney indoor headline shows, Garbage will play a series of a day on the green outdoor concerts with The Temper Trap, The Preatures, Tash Sultana and Adalita.

Rounding out their tour Garbage will also perform a show at Wollongong’s WIN Entertainment Centre on Thursday 1 December, joined by special guests The Temper Trap and Tash Sultana.

To create Strange Little Birds, their first album in four years, Garbage drew on a variety of influences including the albums they loved growing up. Upon its June release, the album debuted at #9 on the ARIA Album Chart and picked up acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, The A.V. Club, NME and Spin amongst countless respected critics:

All eleven tracks on Strange Little Birds were recorded and produced by the band (Shirley Manson, Steve Marker, Duke Erikson and Butch Vig) and released via their own STUNVOLUME Records/Liberator Music. In support of the album’s release, Garbage performed a powerful two-song performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! – watch ‘Empty’ here and ‘Push It’ here.

From their lauded self-titled debut (1995) through to Strange Little Birds, Garbage’s innovation, unique sound and provocative visual aesthetic have inspired massive worldwide attention and success. Tracks like ‘I Think I’m Paranoid’, ‘Only Happy When It Rains’, ‘When I Grow Up’, ‘Stupid Girl’ and ‘Cherry Lips’ are instant classics and highlight the band’s talent to span genres and styles while still staying true to their celebrated sound.

World renowned for their incredible live rock shows, Garbage have sold 12 million albums worldwide, performed in over 35 countries and continue to perform sold out shows across the globe more than two decades since their formation.

These shows will be Australian fans’ first opportunity to hear songs from Strange Little Birds live alongside favourites from Garbage’s hit-filled career. With anticipation for this tour at fever pitch, tickets will not last long – don’t miss out!

In 1994 a groovy little band outta Portland, Oregan burst into life – they were called THE DANDY WARHOLS. There were a group of friends who ’needed music to drink to’. For the last two decades, THE DANDY WARHOLS have solidified themselves as a veteran rock act that combine a detached garage rock cool with effervescent pop melodies, creating a sound that has been described as Portland’s answer to Brit-Pop.

The Dandy Warhols return to Australia in support of their latest album, ‘Distortland’.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>//

‘Distortland’ was first recorded in’frontman, Courtney Taylor’s basement on an 80s cassette recorder with the band’putting on the finishing touches in a studio. Jim Lowe – best known for his work with Taylor Swift and Beyonce – mixed’ the album. Courtney notes that the end result is an album that is “organized like a pop record but still has the sonic garbage still in there”. This will be Australia’s first chance to hear new material live and in living colour. Speaking to Mixdown Magazine, frontman, Courtney Taylor spoke about the upcoming Australian tour, “We love Australia it’s part of our family, it’s part of our body.“

With an impressive back catalogue of iconic hits, The Dandy’s set list is sure to not only include Distortland future classics, but also be jam packed with pure pop crowd favourites, including ’We Used To Be Friends’, ’Horse Pills’, ’Get Off’, ’Godless’, ’Everyday Should Be A Holiday’, ’Boys Better’ and of course the evergreen crowd pleaser ’Bohemian Like You’.
