You can always tell the success of a kid’s film by the silence of its young audience members. With that in mind, Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon should score high on must see holiday lists. It not only keeps the young ones engaged but provides a few laughs for their handlers as well.

With this new work, Aardman Studios have lost none of their charm. It’s still very British and remains quite easily digestible. They also put those wonderful touches in that you need to be on the lookout for, like the Doctor Who cameo and the obligatory reference to toast.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>//

Staying true to the claymation technique keeps the character’s look organic and the emotional context warm. Tastefully mixing in CGI backgrounds and props helps to expand the possibilities. The story is still very minimal, Aardman is never deep with story but always rich with character.

With an almost compete lack of cynicism and innuendo free presence, Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon offers a pure form of entertainment that is very rare these days. Its only agenda is to create smiles on faces and lightness of heart.
