Firebrand, ARIA-nominated, Melbourne rockers Kingswood are back in a big, big way, announcing their up and coming national club show tour throughout November, tickets for these up close and personal shows are on sale now.

The tour will take in nine shows across five states, including up close and personal capital city venues, as well as off the beaten track regional club shows, kicking off with a performance on Friday, November 4 at Chinchilla Event ‘Fusions on the Field’ in Queensland.

These shows offer fans a chance to see KINGSWOOD perform on stages not seen since the early days of their career where they’ll be premiering select material off their forthcoming sophomore album. The band’s most recent ‘Microscopic Wars’ album tour (March 2015) saw the band sell out iconic venues across the country, including Sydney’s Metro Theatre and the Forum Theatre in Melbourne and then went on to support Australian rock royalty AC/DC on the nine date Australian leg of their ‘Rock or Bust’ stadium tour in November 2015, alongside energetic Swedish rock stars, The Hives. These electrifying shows saw the band play to some of the biggest audiences of their career, playing to 80,000 seat venues like Sydney’s ANZ Stadium, to which the band’s vocalist/ Laska proudly accepted, “There isn’t really much one can say about touring with AC/DC, childhood dreams being realised generally results in a loss for words.”

Kingswood members Laska, Fergus Linacre and Justin Debrincat have spent the earlier part of 2016 bunkered down recording the follow-up to their 2014 debut, Microscopic Wars, at the legendary Nashville USA studios: Sound Emporium, owned by musical legend Johnny Cash’s producer Jack Clement – a studio that has recorded the albums of many of the greats, from Robert Plant and Cyndi Lauper, to the Alabama Shakes and Pharell.

Chet Faker is set to embark on an East Coast tour this October and November, playing his biggest venues to date. Taking place in iconic and much-loved venues, Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl and Brisbane’s Riverstage, the Built on Live Tour will have Chet performing an all-new show, featuring an expanded band with guests, never before performed live songs, and more than a few surprises along the way.

It will be a final celebration of his multi-platinum, chart-topping album Built on Glass. Chet completely sold out his entire 13-date tour earlier this year including a remarkable two Hordern Pavilions and five Palais Theatres. The ‘Built on Live’ Tour, the last time Chet will be on home soil in quite a while, is set to be just as popular.

Chet says:
“I’ve played over 200 shows since the album came out, and during that time the songs and the show itself has evolved so much further beyond the recordings. This tour is a last chance to put everything I’ve learned over the last few years into practice and see the songs played in their full capacity before I put the album to rest.”

To round out the Built on Glass campaign, Chet today premiered a previously unreleased track ‘Bend’ on triple j. Written during the Built on Glass recording period, Chet explains the track’s history:

“’Bend’ was on Built on Glass until the last minute. I recorded it in 2013 and kinda wanted to put it out since. It’s always felt like a part of Built on Glass and since this tour is the sort of live “director’s cut” of the album it made sense to release this before it lost context.”

Chet Faker took out five wins from nine nominations at the 2014 ARIA Awards including ‘Best Male Artist’, ‘Best Independent Release’, ‘Producer of the Year’, ‘Engineer of the Year’ (Eric J Dubowsky) and ‘Best Artwork’ (Tin&Ed) for his debut LP Built on Glass (Future Classic). He also picked up the J Award for ‘Australian Album of the Year’, topped the station’s Hottest 100 with ’Talk Is Cheap’ and scored the #1 spot on the listener-voted triple j Best of 2014 Top Ten Album poll, amongst an array of achievements.

Chet’s hard work internationally is paying off too. He made well-publicised performances on Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen and has sold out all his headline shows this year, including three Terminal 5s (NYC), two Club Nokias (LA), three Trianons (Paris) and is set to play Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and FYF Fest (amongst others) over the northern hemisphere summer. Check out the shining press reviews below.

Get ready Australia because the most anticipated rock tour of the summer will be landing soon!

Rock superstars Foo Fighters will be returning to Australia in February and March 2015 for their biggest shows ever, with very special guests Rise Against.

Last in Australia in 2011 for a massive run of sold out stadium dates, the Foo Fighters treated their fans to the next level of rock and roll awesomeness.

Wrapping up summer in the best way possible, Foo Fighters along with special guests Rise Against will be conquering stadium stages across Australia as well as treating Tasmania to the tour’s only indoor show at Derwent Entertainment Centre.

The mutual love between Foo Fighters and our fine countries is no secret and the feeling is stronger than ever. The world tour in support of their new album Sonic Highways (out November 10 on Roswell/Sony Music) will see the band play their first show in Hobart since 1998 and their first EVER show in Christchurch. The band already has a very strong bond with these two cities– Grohl penned the instrumental ‘Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners’ for trapped Tasmanian miners Webb and Russell and in the same year, the band performed a special charity concert in support of the Christchurch earthquake appeal.

In the two decades since the 1995 release of Foo Fighters’ self-titled debut album, Foo Fighters have grown into arguably the last great American arena/stadium rock band, raked in 11 Grammy Awards, sold 25 million records worldwide and spawned countless hits including ‘Everlong’, ‘Monkey Wrench’, ‘My Hero’, ‘Learn To Fly’, ‘All My Life’, ‘Best Of You’, ‘The Pretender’, ‘Walk’ and more.

Produced by Butch Vig and Foo Fighters, Sonic Highways–the band’s eighth studio album and long awaited follow up to 2011’s quadruple-Grammy-winning, international #1 Wasting Light–will be released globally on Monday, November 10.

Sonic Highways shares its title with the Dave Grohl-directed eight-episode docuseries (currently screening on the GO! Channel across Australia and The Edge TV in NZ) that digs deep into the heart and soul of America’s musical identity. Each one-hour episode is devoted to a different American musical landmark, chronicling the history, cultural environment and people that define each city’s unique musical identity.

The Foo Fighters Sonic Highways Tour of Australia and New Zealand will see the band bringing many of their mammoth stadium anthems as well as soon to be classics from Sonic Highways such as lead single ‘Something From Nothing’.

Fellow rock trailblazers Rise Against will be sharing the bill with Foo Fighters at all shows. For over a decade the Chicago locals have brought a relentless thunder to the rock scene and received a bounty of acclaim and awards in the process for tracks like ‘Savior’ and ‘Prayer Of The Refugee’.

Their seventh album The Black Market (out through Universal Music) was released earlier this year and saw the band score their second #1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart. Audiences will be treated to the newest additions to Rise Against’s extensive discography like ‘I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore’ and latest single ‘Tragedy + Time’.

Adding a local flavour to the line-up, Melbourne genre-benders The Delta Riggs will be joining the tour at all Australian shows (excluding Hobart). Their second album Dipz Zebazios (out now through Inertia Music) is the feature album on triple j this week and is filled with the high-energy jams and intoxicating anthems that the four-piece have become known and loved for.

The Foos have a penchant for selling out shows in seconds flat and based on the level of anticipation for this tour announcement from fans, tickets will not be around for long!

Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear are in their finest form yet and on the Sonic Highways tour, the band and their fans the world over will make every night an unforgettable celebration of 20 years of Foo Fighters.

Six years after their last headline tour of Australia and five years since their Harvest Festival appearances sonic-architects Mogwai finally return to Australia for an all headline tour.

As befits their wide-screen nature the six-piece Glaswegian outfit won’t be doing things by halves either, taking in a two-night stand at Perth International Arts Festival (with special guest: Dinosaur J frontman J Mascis), a headline spot at Adelaide Festival‘s Thebarton Theatre, debut performances at both the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall and Melbourne’s famed Hamer Hall, a return slot at the Tivoli in Brisbane PLUS the band’s first ever visit to New Zealand – how’s that for stamping your authority!

Almost 20 years since their inception Mogwai have carved out a niche entirely their own – often copied but never bettered – that has seen the band release eight (largely) instrumental and hugely influential studio albums (including this years UK top ten debut Rave Tapes), live albums, compilations, film soundtracks (including Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait and The Fountain) while most recently Mogwai were commissioned to provide the score for SBS TV series The Returned a/k/a Les Revenant.

“It concerns a group of dead individuals who return – not as archetypal zombies, but seemingly exactly as they were – to live in their former communities. Gradually, though, things start to unravel, the creeping unease bolstered brilliantly by this sinister Mogwai score.” – The Guardian July 2013

Live, Mogwai‘s shows are legendary taking the audience from a whisper to a scream, from darkness to light as wave after wave of sound comes crashing around them taking the listener on the most epic of journeys.

Just getting better and better the band incorporate so many sounds and textures into their music that it would take for ever to describe. There is a serious imagination at play here with songs sometimes hooking around a fierce almost Stooges style riff and then descending into a spooked neo silence before exploding with a genuine danger or twisting around some electronic loop. – Louder Than War June 2014

Brooklyn indie rocker The Antlers are no strangers to Australian shores, having been part of the travelling St Jeromes’ Laneway Festival line-up in 2011, as well as playing their own headline shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Having long ago transcended their lo-fi bedroom project roots in favour of lush soundscapes and dreamy atmospherics, 2014 has been a huge year for The Antlers who in June released their fifth studio album, Familiars, to not unexpected fanfare. Pitchfork heaped praise on the release, gushing, “Familiars is the latest satisfying effort from a band that continues to reward those listeners who give them the attention their elegant, secretly weird music deserves”, while The A.V. Club offered, “With this rewarding album, The Antlers take the band’s wounds and find glimmers of redemption and hope”.

The Antlers too have been touring non-stop around America since Familiars hit the shelves, and with an extensive European tour slated for this coming October/November should also be firing on all cylinders by the time they hit Australia in February!
