After 15 years as one of Australia’s most electrifying live acts, Northeast Party House head out on what will be their last ever tour. In celebration of an incredible career they bring their boisterous live show on the road for one more party with fans across the country.

“It feels strange but also right to announce that the year of our 15th anniversary will also be our last. We are hitting the road one last time to cap off an incredible 15 year run to say thank you to everyone who has danced, partied, sang, written to us and contributed.”

Born out of warehouse parties in the height of the 2000s indie movement, they erupted on the scene with a raucous live show that merged the relationship between stage and audience, creating a space where people could enjoy a gig like it was a friend’s house party. 2011’s Self Titled EP saw the bands’ sound develop a depth of musicality and substance, yet maintain a firm grip on their hedonistic hi-energy attitude.

“When we first started Northeast it was our dream to create a space where people could enjoy a gig like it was a friend’s house party. We had no idea that the house party would last for 15 years.”

“Our Triple J Unearthed win in 2010 marked the beginning of an adventure beyond our greatest ambitions. From there we played countless festivals, headlined The Forum, toured the US and Europe, and performed at Splendour in The Grass to a full tent in 2021.”

Off the back of a standout performance at Falls Festival 2011, they built a reputation as one of the best live bands in the country, providing stable footing for the release of debut album Any Given Weekend (2014), which skilfully blurred indie rock and electronic music.

They built their own niche community, rallying together unattached people in a reckless pursuit of a good time, with ideas like spending government payments on partying – ‘‘lets all get on youth allowance’’. Growing their audience with consistent touring, the bands most successful moments lay ahead with the release of 2016’s Dare (featuring ‘Calypso Beach’), 2019’s Shelf Life (featuring ‘Magnify’) and 2024’s Enhancer (featuring ‘Brain Freeze’), cementing their reputation for outstanding live shows, a strong grasp of liberating melody, and an unapologetic celebration of life’s wild moments.

Acclaimed musical innovator and six-time Grammy nominee, Steven Wilson, will bring his highly anticipated The Overview Tour to QPAC this November.

His arrival in Australia will follow a massive run of UK, European and American dates and celebrates the release of his eighth solo album, The Overview, out now via Fiction Records.

Fans can expect a captivating live experience from one of contemporary music’s most boundary pushing, genre bending artists. Accompanied by accomplished and seasoned veterans including Nick Beggs on bass (Mute Gods, Steve Hackett), legendary jazz keyboardist, Adam Holzman (Miles Davis, Ray Manzarek), Craig Blundell on drums (Steve Hackett, Frost) and Randy McStine on guitars (Marco Minnemann, The Fringe) this world class line up will bring the expansive, progressive soundscapes to life in a way that can only be experienced in a live setting.

The Overview is a 42-minute conceptual journey inspired by the ‘overview effect’ of astronauts viewing Earth from space and marks a return to the long form progressive style Steven Wilson redefined with the iconic Porcupine Tree and his earlier solo work. Featuring two ambitious tracks and immersive spatial audio production, The Overview blends progressive sprawl with cinematic electronics and lush, immersive vibes all wrapped in spatial audio wizardry.

// ]]>
// ]]>
// ]]>

It’s a bold addition to his repertoire which also includes six Grammy nominations, three consecutive UK Top 5 albums and a string of iconic remixes for artists including, Pink Floyd, The Who, King Crimson and Tears For Fears.

The Overview Tour promises to be a thrilling and dynamic experience. Expect a set packed with The Overview’s mind-bending sprawl alongside cuts from his acclaimed and peerless career.

It’s vast, it’s other worldly and it’s been too long since Wilson last hit Australian soil. Fans have been yearning for his return and it’s set to be unforgettable and simply unmissable.

Don’t miss this rare chance to see Steven Wilson live this November, performing music that challenges and inspires in equal measure.

For one night only in Concert Halls around the country seasoned performers Deborah Conway and Darren Coggan, together with a stellar line up of Australia’s finest musicians, will celebrate the enduring friendship and musical collaboration of two the most successful singer/songwriters of their generation – Carole King and James Taylor. The tour will start in Sydney on 19th July before travelling to Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne.

Audiences will be treated to performances of all their biggest hits including Carole King’s seminal album TAPESTRY, early collaborations with Gerry Goffin such as Up on the Roof and from the James Taylor catalogue Fire and Rain, How Sweet it is (to be loved by you), Carolina in my Mind and Shower the People to name just a few.

Conway and Coggan will share the story of how these two music legends became such enduring friends marked by the decades long influence they have had on each other’s lives.

If ever there were a song that epitomized their remarkable bond it would have to be You’ve Got a Friend. One of the most heartfelt compositions of the 20th century, both artists won a Grammy award for the song in 1972, and to this day it remains James Taylor’s only number 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

Conway who believes the songs are hard-wired into her soul said, “I bought a copy of Tapestry in 1971 I remember going down the street with a couple of dollars clutched in my hand and handing them over at the local record store. I listened intently, I knew every word, every melody & counter melody, and 53 years later it has stood the test of time with effortless grace.”

Coggan, who has been immersed in Taylor’s music since a young child said, “Taylor’s baritone is so comforting, familiar, warm and friendly, but it is so much more than the voice. He is a superb storyteller whose songs are enduringly relevant and take you on a journey, in a very personal way, and I cannot wait to do just that with our audiences.”

The Second Act Tour will see Missy touring theatres nationally next autumn in a special two act show. The first set each evening will include some brand-new songs, plus a few fan favourites from early in her career, all played in stripped back, acoustic mode. After an intermission Missy will then return with her full band to perform The Sound of White in its entirety plus some of her other hits.

The Sound of White is one of the biggest and most influential albums in Australian music history. The intensely introspective collection of yearning songs yielded bona fide classics like “Scar”, “Ten Days” and “The Special Two”. It has sold a million copies and received 6 ARIA Awards. Over the last 20 years The Sound of White has also inspired dozens of young Australian women – including major artists like Amy Shark, Gretta Ray, Gordi and Angie McMahon – to follow in Missy’s footsteps and sing their own songs in their own ways.

Don’t miss the special return of Missy Higgins.
