The festive event of the year, Christmas Actually is returning to Brisbane this December!

Christmas is the time to be with the people you love and this year, audiences in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide can spend the festive season with the dazzling stars of Christmas Actually.

The Little Red Company presents the music of Love Actually live on stage with four big seasons in Brisbane (13 – 17 December), Sydney (6 – 9 December), Adelaide (8 December) and Melbourne (15 – 16 December).

This marks the sixth consecutive year the five-star festive smash has wowed audiences with its signature heart and humour and celebrates the 20th anniversary of the film’s release.

The Brisbane season reunites Christmas Actually favourites Naomi Price, Irena Lysiuk and the original dancing Prime Minister Luke Kennedy, with musical theatre star Doron Chester (Aladdin, Frozen the Musical) making his Little Red debut.

The show performs at Brisbane Powerhouse for the first time, backed by Little Red’s world-class four-piece band.

Musical theatre superstar Stefanie Jones, fresh from playing Mary Poppins in the blockbuster national production, makes her Christmas Actually debut in the Sydney season alongside Price, Kennedy and Chester.

This is the third time the feel-good festive hit plays the iconic Sydney Opera House, following successful seasons in 2019 and 2022.

Cabaret legend Libby O’Donovan OAM leads an all-star cast in Christmas Actually’s debut seasons in Melbourne and Adelaide.

She is joined at Her Majesty’s Theatre in her hometown of Adelaide by Lysiuk, Joshua Robson (Phantom of the Opera) and Little Red debutant JD Smith (The TEN Tenors), the latter two also playing Melbourne’s The Round alongside Jones.

Cementing itself as Australia’s favourite festive tradition, Christmas Actually features hits from artists including Mariah Carey, Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy, The Beach Boys and The Beatles, brought to the stage by talented live musicians and acclaimed performers.

Co-creator and star Price said that just as there was more than one lobster present at the birth of Jesus, so too was there more than enough of Little Red’s signature sparkle to sprinkle on Australian audiences.

“This year marks 20 years since the release of Richard Curtis’ instant holiday classic, Love Actually, yet it remains as poignant and nostalgic as ever,” Price said.

“The film chronicles 10 completely different love stories – romantic love, unrequited love, new love, familial love, platonic love – each soundtracked by music that plucks at heartstrings and raises the roof with equal power and potency.

“This has been another tough year for so many people and we are reminded that what the world really needs now, more than ever, is love.

“So, say it’s carol singers, get ready in the flashiest of flashes and brace yourself to experience the total agony of being in love when Little Red brings powerhouse performances, so many laughs and a few tears to concert halls and theatres across Australia this December.”
