The award winning cabaret Exposing Edith is coming to QPAC this March

Winner of Best Cabaret for the 2016 Adelaide Fringe Festival and nominated for a Helpmann Award, Exposing Edith chronicles the tragic life of arguably the greatest French singer of all time.

This breathtaking show features classics such “La Vie En Rose”, “Padam” and “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien” uniquely reworked using voice and acoustic guitar to create an exquisite mix of authentic, vintage French pop and contemporary sounds.

Created and performed by Greg Wain on guitar and Australia’s very own ‘little sparrow’ Michaela Burger on vocals, the songs are punctuated with a collection of extraordinary stories of Piaf’s life which are recounted by Burger, who also takes on a multitude of key characters, from Edith’s half-sister Momone, to several of her lovers and, of course, Edith Piaf herself.

Experience Piaf’s life, loves and losses through the songs that shot her to stardom in this unforgettable show, not to be missed!

“Michaela Burger is a blazing life force in her evocation of Piaf.” The Age

“Burger is as close as you will ever get to seeing the real Piaf perform. The music is spectacular and she sings it with all the passion of the great lady herself.” Australian Stage

“An enormously deep and tremendous voice, with a richness of passion. The interpretation is so near to perfect and the resemblance to Piaf so uncanny, I felt tingles down my spine.” Planet Arts Melbourne
