A Midnight Visit continues, and is set to make Queensland Theatre history!

The underground smash-hit, choose-your-own-adventure, theatre experience, A Midnight Visit, by Broad Encounters Productions, has been happily haunting it’s abandoned Fortitude Valley warehouse since late July. Defying the havoc of lockdowns and industry insecurity, this independent production now enters it’s 18th week of shows, making it Brisbane’s longest running theatre production since Phantom of the Opera in 1996/1997.

Since opening, over 13,000 people have been seduced by their imagination in the award-winning experience that must be seen to be believed. The multi-sensory marvel which went from deserted warehouse to over 30 magnificently macabre and marvelously spooky rooms is reminiscent of a movie set.

A Midnight Visit invites you to explore a dark dreamworld of thrills, obsession, decadence and awe, inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe. It has exploded the notion of what theatre is and can be. It engages and involves the audience in innovative and extraordinary new ways.

Director of Broad Encounters, Kirsten Siddle, explains, “There’s no right or best way to decipher A Midnight Visit. We’ve asked audiences to come with a curious mind and a brave soul. The dreamworld we have created is an experience where you can look, touch and feel the mysteries, madness and macabre delights of the granddaddy of gothic literature, Edgar Allan Poe. The concepts and themes that consumed him continue to haunt contemporary society and audiences are diving right in!”.
