Get a jump-start on summer when the Airlie Beach Festival of Music plays stages across the tourist town with a jam-packed line-up of incredible artists and headline acts from 5 – 7 November 2021.

Party in paradise with big-name musicians and emerging local talent performing in Airlie Beach’s best party venues across three epic days when the Festival celebrates its ninth huge year in 2021.

The Whitsunday Sailing Club with its jaw-dropping sea views is home to the Festival’s main stage with other venues spanning the foreshore and marina to the town’s vibrant bars and restaurants.

Playing these unique stages is a fantastic line-up including The Angels, John Schumann (Redgum) and Shane Howard (Goanna) with The Red Rockin’ Dirt Band, Troy Cassar-Daley, Russell Morris, Toni Childs, Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus), Alex Lloyd, Busby Marou, Rick Price and Butterfingers.

Airlie Beach Festival of Music founder Gavin Butlin says the multi-day event is like no other in Australia; a perfect measure of party and paradise that welcomes all musical tastes.

“Having to cancel the 2020 Festival was devastating so I am beyond thrilled to welcome a stellar line-up of artists and musicians to play venues throughout the gorgeous Airlie Beach,” Mr Butlin says.

“Like all events this year, we have had to adapt to travel restrictions with some of our originally programmed interstate artists unable to attend but we are all systems go and our new line-up includes some huge Aussie music legends, Queensland touring artists and talented locals.

“I’m also delighted that audiences will have the chance to discover and support the ‘next big thing’ with Passport to Airlie, Australia’s largest live original music competition where finalists perform at the Festival and the winner scores a spot on the main stage in 2022.

“We need to support the next generation of internationally famous Australian acts so I invite everyone to check out the Festival’s incredible program and support live, original music at a grassroots level.”

Music-lovers can ease into the three-day Festival with the traditional Beach Jam Session and Passport to Airlie finals featuring celebrity guest judges at Magnums on Thursday 4 November.

“I love to see new acts getting a break; to be involved in encouraging emerging artists is one of the great inspirations of being an artist myself,” Passport to Airlie judge Sarah McLeod says.

Festival of Small Halls has announced that The Jellyman’s Daughter (SCO) together with Ash Bell and Sara Tindley (AUS) will feature on their upcoming Spring Tour 2019: Dorrigo to Queenscliff.

Presented in partnership with major Australian festivals Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival, the Spring Tour 2019 will kick off in the rolling hills of Dorrigo, NSW, cross the sunburnt outback of western Queensland and conclude on the sunny Victorian peninsula of Queenscliff.

The route sees the popular regional music tour take in three states over four weeks in October and November and will include some of Queensland’s most alluring reasons to take a road trip this spring.

Festival of Small Halls is Australia’s largest music tour dedicated exclusively to regional, rural and remote Australia. Producer Eleanor Rigden says programming the tour hand-in-hand with some of Australia’s biggest music festivals means regional communities can leverage access to the same standard of arts and culture as their metropolitan counterparts.

“These towns are some of the friendliest, most welcoming places I have ever been to,” said Ms Rigden.

“We’re inviting people to come away with us, plan a road trip and really experience the double whammy of this brilliant music alongside the country hospitality and hosts that just have to be seen to be believed.”

Hailing from Edinburgh, The Jellyman’s Daughter are one of Scotland’s most innovative new exports and are looking forward to the unique exposure of the tour.

“We couldn’t be more excited about our first tour of Australia,” said band member Graham Coe.

“It will be both of our first times over there and we’re looking forward to playing our music to a bunch of friendly Australian faces on the other side of the world, meeting some dangerous animals and finally getting to experience some (real) hot weather, said Graham.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>

“We’re also excited about getting out of the cities and seeing the diversity in the communities – touring is really the best way to properly experience a country and we’re super grateful that we’ll have the opportunity to do that in Australia.”

Described as a blend of bluegrass, post-rock, folk and soul music, The Jellyman’s Daughter promise “harmonies that squeeze the heart” and cello playing that can be “as percussive as a drum, as grounded as a bass or as sweet as a fiddle” (The Sunday Herald).

Ash Bell and Sara Tindley will ring familiar to many across the outback – Ash Bell comes from contemporary Australiana outfit and festival favourites The Starboard Cannons and is already looking forward to his second run with Festival of Small Halls. He’s formed a new partnership with Sara Tindley, who is fresh to the band from her fourth solo album, produced by Nick Didia (Bruce Springsteen, Powderfinger, Pearl Jam). Together they’ve created an iconic Australia roots sound which reaches down into the soul of the listener.

Festival of Small Halls Spring Tour starts 25 October 2019 at Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival, travelling to venues across western Queensland from 30 October – 17 November and concluding at Queenscliff Music Festival from 21-24 November.

Tickets on sale from 22 August 2019 at www.festivalofsmallhalls.com

Proudly presented by Woodfordia Inc in partnership with Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival. Festival of Small Halls – Spring Tour 2019 is funded under the Year of Outback Tourism Events program during the Year of Outback Tourism 2019.
