Enigmatic Icelandic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ásgeir brings his highly anticipated third album Bury The Moon to Australian audiences this coming May.

Expertly composed and transcendental in approach, Ásgeir’s melancholic, electronic-folk and ambitious electro-pop beats penetrate a little deeper than most. His debut album soared to success in his native land, becoming the fastest selling debut from a homegrown artist in Iceland, breaking all previous records and outselling Björk and Sigur Rós.

The English language edition of his debut album In The Silence was spotlighted as triple j Feature Album in 2014. Both the album and its lead single “King and Cross” achieved gold ARIA accreditation and “King and Cross” came in 10th in triple j’s Hottest 100.

In 2017, his second album Afterglow scored Ásgeir’s second triple j Feature Album and the station co-presented his sold out July 2017 Splendour In The Grass sideshows.

An artist of rare scope, sincerity, and emotion, his next album Bury The Moon, due to be released on 7 February 2020, might well be Ásgeir’s bravest, and his most enduring.

His innate ability to make even the largest of spaces feel intimate will pull you in and leave you yearning for more.

“A self-confessed loner, (Ásgeir’s) set was melancholic, contemplative and eerily beautiful, focusing solely on his voice with his band only enhancing what was already there.” Isolated Nation

“The musical asset that, more than any other, identifies Ásgeir’s work as uniquely his, is his inimitable voice.” Music Feeds

“A wonderful atmosphere … with Ásgeir’s amazing falsetto vocals enveloping the crowd.” Reverb

Frontier Touring are delighted to welcome back one of the defining bands of American rock music: Jimmy Eat World, returning to Australia in March 2020 for their first visit in three years and in celebration of their recently released tenth studio album, Surviving, out now via Sony Music Australia.

The Arizona band will perform three special headline shows only while in Australia. First up: WA fans can get their fix at Fremantle venue Metropolis on Monday 16 March. Brisbane fans are up next with a show at The Tivoli on Thursday 19 March, while Adelaide audiences get their long-awaited turn with a gig at The Gov on Monday 23 March.

Coming three years after 2016’s Integrity Blues, Surviving is Jimmy Eat World’s most personal, ambitious album to date. With 25 years and 10 albums so far, frontman Jim Adkins proves once again why he’s one of the most prolific songwriters in rock & roll. Together with bandmates Rick Burch, Tom Linton and Zach Lind, Jimmy Eat World’s hard-rocking melodies and killer lyrics have won over fans for more than two decades now, thanks to iconic tracks such as: ‘Bleed American’, ‘The Middle’, ‘Sweetness’, ‘Pain’, ‘I Will Steal You Back’, ‘Always Be’, ‘Sure and Certain’ and many more.

If reviews of the band’s current US tour run this month are anything to go by, Jimmy Eat World’s tour in March 2020 is not to be missed!

‘The entire performance, in a nutshell, was breathtaking.’ – therodeomag.com

‘There are few bands that can simply do no wrong, and Jimmy Eat World are one of them … the band exuded a seasoned maturity not lacking for energy, feeding off the die-hards singing along against the barricade and the enthusiastic tipsy waving beers in the back.’ – starsandscars.com

‘After a killer main set, the band turned up the heat for the encore, starting with “555” and then going into ‘Big Casino’ off Chase This Light … “The Middle” as the night’s final song was a definite crowd-pleaser, proving it’s a great song which still rips hard live to this day.’– Brooklyn Vegan

Fans got their first taste of new album Surviving via singles ‘Love Never’, ‘All The Way (Stay)’ and ‘555’, the 10-track album self-produced by the band with Integrity Blues producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen. Critics have praised the band for another stellar effort:

‘… the fact that Surviving sits so neatly amongst its predecessors says much about the work Jimmy Eat World have put in over the years in creating and refining a sound that is uniquely their own’ – The AU Review ★★★★

‘Packed with unfiltered feeling and power’ – Kerrang, 4/5

‘A collection of polished alt-rock pick-me-ups and feel-good collaborations’ – Billboard

‘Top to bottom, it’s a classic Jimmy Eat World record’ – Alternative Press

‘Far from a band merely surviving, it would seem Jimmy Eat World is thriving’ – Upset Magazine

Don’t miss Jimmy Eat World, playing Fremantle, Brisbane and Adelaide in March 2020!

The tour will celebrate the release of The National’s eighth studio album I Am Easy To Find – out now via Remote Control Records / 4AD.

Formed in 1999, the Ohio-raised, Brooklyn-based band consists of vocalist Matt Berninger plus two pairs of brothers: Aaron Dessner (guitar, bass, piano) and Bryce Dessner (guitar), and Scott Devendorf (bass, guitar) and Bryan Devendorf (drums).

The National’s triumphant previous visit to Australia in 2018 included sold-out performances at Sydney Opera House Forecourt, Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl and Brisbane’s Riverstage. For their upcoming tour, the band will nestle into their most intimate Australian venues in a decade, delivering fans the raw intensity and emotion of their live show, up-close-and-personal like never before. Be quick – tickets will not last!

Joining The National on all dates will be special guest Phoebe Bridgers. Hailing from Los Angeles, Bridgers released her debut album Stranger In The Alps in 2017 to international acclaim, with haunting, introspective songs that garnered widespread comparisons to legendary songwriters like Elliott Smith and Joni Mitchell. In the last 12 months, Bridgers has continued with a prolific release schedule; teaming up with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus to release an EP as boygenius and joining forces with Conor Oberst for a full-length album under the guise Better Oblivion Community Centre. She returns to Australia following sell-out headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane earlier this year.

Once voted by the readers of Q Magazine as the “greatest front man of all time”, living legend Liam Gallagher will return to Australia in December as he celebrates the release of his massively anticipated second solo record, Why Me? Why Not? (out Sept 20).

Shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and will give Australian audiences a chance to revel in tracks from Gallagher’s untouchable back catalogue as well as taking in newer cuts from his more recent output.

Also on offer for Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane fans will be a stoic support set from independent Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Cinnamon, in the country to spruik his debut album Erratic Cinematic.

We all know the Oasis story by now: Manc lads discover the magic formula, pump out several anthems for a generation, release some of the highest selling (and most loved) albums of all time, define British guitar music, burn out in a blaze of glory…

Now, as we hurtle towards 2020, it’s a sheer delight to hear the unmistakable voice of Liam Gallagher producing music just as timeless as he did at the peak of Britpop’s heyday.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>//

// ]]>

His debut solo album As You Were was released in October 2017, proving to be a critical and commercial success as it sold over 103,000 units in its first week and becoming the ninth fastest-selling debut of the decade in the UK.

Calling it a “debut” may seem a bit strange when we’re talking about an artist responsible for some of the most momentous albums in the history of recorded music, but Gallagher’s solo career to date has very much been about starting again with renewed vitality.

This attitude is on display through As It Were, a documentary released in June this year that documents the release of As You Were and the subsequent soul searching forced upon Gallagher in the wake of the break-up’s of Oasis, Beady Eye and several other personal relationships.

“I’m not doing this to be more famous, I’m f**king famous enough – you know what I mean,” he announces early in the film. “I’m not doing it for the money. I joined a band because I love music.”

With this typically confident catchcry in mind, Gallagher started work on his new record with super-producers Greg Kurstin and Andrew Wyatt, eventually pumping out Why Me, Why Not? and its stomping singles

‘Shockwave’ and ‘The River’. Both replete with oodles of the swagger and bluster that made Liam Gallagher a household name, the tunes are perfect precursors a much-anticipated sophomore release, both going down a treat at his recent Glastonbury performance.

In fact, if that show was anything to go by, audiences in Australia and New Zealand are in for something very special as Gallagher stacks his setlist with some of Oasis’ most well-known tunes and sends the likely lads and ladette’s into Supersonic ecstasy.

As they prepare to shine bright over regional fields as part of 2019’s epic Groovin The Moo line-up, Danish pop sensation MØ and San Franciscan hip-hop hero DUCKWRTH have wasted no time in announcing huge sideshows across Australia.

Possessing one of the most streamed voices on the planet, MØ will arrive in Australia with latest album Forever Neverland tucked securely under her arm. Released in October last year, it added a sparser side to this wildly popular alt- popstar’s arsenal, while losing none of the bite that took her to the top.

Known to her friends as Karen Marie Ørsted, MØ has built an audience as a featured vocalist on tracks by the likes of Snakehips, Cashmere Cat, SOPHIE, Noah Cyrus, Justin Bieber (the mega-hit Cold Water) and of course Diplo (their collaboration, Major Lazer’s Lean On just ticked over 1 billion streams on Spotify alone).

Last seen in these parts hanging out with fellow superstar Sia, MØ’s shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Fremantle will see her at the peak of some considerable powers.

Sharing the stage with MØ at these dates will be multi-talented rap, hip-hop, soul, funk master DUCKWRTH. Rising to prominence in 2017 when his killer track MICHUUL began lighting up triple j airwaves, this LA-born, San Fran-based chameleon has made a name for himself as a positive force in music, art and even clothing design.

Most recently popping up on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack with his tune ‘Start A Riot’, DUCKWRTH will provide the perfect foil to MØ’s musical kaleidoscopes.
