THIEVERY CORPORATION have spent over two decades crafting their own archetype of electronic music that draws influences from Jamaican Dub, Afro-Beat, trip hop, acid Jazz, Middle Eastern, Indian and New York Tones

THIEVERY CORPORATION established a unique and hypnotic aural trademark that would go on to influence a generation of producers and DJ’s to follow suit. They’ve since sold millions of records, have headlined major music festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalloza, collaborated with unique famed artists Perry Farrell, The Flaming Lips and David Byrne and remain one of the genre’s most revered acts as they continue to tour the world two decades on.

// ]]>

Whilst THIEVERY CORPORATION’S 2014 release ‘Saudade’ payed tribute to their Bossa Nova inspirations, Hilton and Garza delve deeper into the warm spirit of Jamaica on their
latest studio album ‘The Temple of I & I’. The album features reggae rhythms intertwined with psychedelic dub moments that serve to demonstrate THIEVERY CORPORATION’s ability to effortlessly bend genre boundaries.

“We’ve never been concerned with fitting into the ‘music industry. Approaching our music as a production duo has allowed us to never feel limited to one particular sound and traverse many fascinating musical landscapes.” – Rob Garza

Having sold out their previous Australian tour, don’t miss THIEVERY CORPORATION as they transcend genres and take us on a sonic exploration through the sounds of the world for an energetic and eclectic evening.

“..their full live band show is a thing to behold. For almost two hours they kept the gardens grooving with their incredibly funky beats and rotating roster of amazing vocalists, and by the end had won a special place in the hearts of those present.” – TheMusic

“Thievery Corporation maintained a grounded, smooth and up-lifting groove packed with an undeniable party vibe which had us dancing non-stop”. – TheWest

“ They lead their audience down a sensual and evocative path of musical discovery—slipping seamlessly between moods and genres the entire night.” – Live Music Blog

Their cathartic, sublime dance-punk – highlighted in tracks such as ‘Daft Punk Is Playing at My House’, ‘Drunk Girls’, ‘I Can Change’, ‘Losing My Edge’ – defined the Noughties, creating a legacy felt to today. Frontier Touring is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated live return to Australia by Brooklyn’s LCD Soundsystem!

Formed by New York DJ/musician James Murphy back in 2002, the dancefloor icons will perform two unmissable headline shows this winter: Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Monday 24 July, followed by Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on Wednesday 26 July. General public tickets for both performances go on sale Thursday 20 April.

‘Frontman Murphy, preacher-like in a white suit, clutched the mic to his mouth throughout, bellowing out existential lyrics and infectious falsetto whoops over propulsive dance beats and noodling guitar lines…. ★★★★★’ – The Telegraph

‘‘Us Vs Them’, ‘Daft Punk…’ and ‘I Can Change’ come consecutively and the intensity doesn’t waver thereafter. Far from making it feel top-heavy, these three bangers – and it feels unfair to call them anything else – merely set the tone for hit followed by hit followed by hit.’ – NME

‘LCD Soundsystem accomplished more in 10 years than most bands achieve in 40.’ – Rolling Stone

These shows will mark LCD Soundsystem’s first visit since reuniting in 2016, Murphy promising fans a new album is on the way. The band made their comeback last year with headline slots at the world’s biggest festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Bonnaroo and Primavera. (LCD will play the closing night of 2017’s Splendour In The Grass.)

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9550766590923202" data-ad-slot="4069408586" data-ad-format="link"></ins>

Then, in January 2016, fans were elated when the band announced they were headlining California’s Coachella. While the world eagerly awaits new music, there’s no mistaking the band’s legendary live power:

‘LCD turned the massive Coachella stage into a glowing New York nightclub, perhaps the most grandiose moment of the reunion tour … Out front is Murphy, their digital maestro.’– SPIN Magazine

‘Toward the end of a nearly two-hour set, in “Dance Yrself Clean” and “All My Friends” repetition locked into ecstasy and all of LCD Soundsystem’s thought and craftsmanship were transformed into motion.’ – The New York Times

Make no mistake, this is going to be THE party of 2017, so don’t delay in grabbing your tickets. Help welcome back LCD Soundsystem to Australia this July!

Chet Faker is set to embark on an East Coast tour this October and November, playing his biggest venues to date. Taking place in iconic and much-loved venues, Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl and Brisbane’s Riverstage, the Built on Live Tour will have Chet performing an all-new show, featuring an expanded band with guests, never before performed live songs, and more than a few surprises along the way.

It will be a final celebration of his multi-platinum, chart-topping album Built on Glass. Chet completely sold out his entire 13-date tour earlier this year including a remarkable two Hordern Pavilions and five Palais Theatres. The ‘Built on Live’ Tour, the last time Chet will be on home soil in quite a while, is set to be just as popular.

Chet says:
“I’ve played over 200 shows since the album came out, and during that time the songs and the show itself has evolved so much further beyond the recordings. This tour is a last chance to put everything I’ve learned over the last few years into practice and see the songs played in their full capacity before I put the album to rest.”

To round out the Built on Glass campaign, Chet today premiered a previously unreleased track ‘Bend’ on triple j. Written during the Built on Glass recording period, Chet explains the track’s history:

“’Bend’ was on Built on Glass until the last minute. I recorded it in 2013 and kinda wanted to put it out since. It’s always felt like a part of Built on Glass and since this tour is the sort of live “director’s cut” of the album it made sense to release this before it lost context.”

Chet Faker took out five wins from nine nominations at the 2014 ARIA Awards including ‘Best Male Artist’, ‘Best Independent Release’, ‘Producer of the Year’, ‘Engineer of the Year’ (Eric J Dubowsky) and ‘Best Artwork’ (Tin&Ed) for his debut LP Built on Glass (Future Classic). He also picked up the J Award for ‘Australian Album of the Year’, topped the station’s Hottest 100 with ’Talk Is Cheap’ and scored the #1 spot on the listener-voted triple j Best of 2014 Top Ten Album poll, amongst an array of achievements.

Chet’s hard work internationally is paying off too. He made well-publicised performances on Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen and has sold out all his headline shows this year, including three Terminal 5s (NYC), two Club Nokias (LA), three Trianons (Paris) and is set to play Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and FYF Fest (amongst others) over the northern hemisphere summer. Check out the shining press reviews below.

Enter Shikari return to Australia this May to unleash their fractured take on punk, metal, dubstep, hip-hop and electronica. The St Albans quartet will bombard your senses and this time they are armed with The Mindsweep which can be described as a future classic right now but more importantly realise The Mindsweep is a classic for OUR time.

As ever with ES you’ll find yourself simultaneously inspired by their unique vision and despairing at how RARE such forward-moving revolutionary art is in this day and age. In a musical world where the by-rote and predictable seem to be the only ‘risk’ anyone’s willing to take, and where lyrically rock’n’roll has never been more conservative, ‘personal’ and staid, Enter Shikari’s music hits like a bolt from the blue, a living livid reminder of music’s real ancient powers and future possibilities, intimate as a friend, global in its reach.

Joining the tour with their own unique sound will be Canberra’s Hands Like Houses, who have been constantly touring UK, Europe and North America, selling out shows worldwide. Their last album Unimagine debuted top 40 on the US Billboard charts.

Enter Shikari live have broken barriers and busted heads wherever they’ve been heard, a meld of punk roots and kaleidoscopic musical consciousness.
