Hank Thompson (Austin Butler) is just a dude tasked with looking after his neighbour’s cat, Bud. Said resident, Russ (Doctor Who's Matt Smith), is a mohawked punk rocker who has to travel back to England to visit his ailing father. A lot of your enjoyment of Eddington will be based on how much you’ve recovered from that undeniably bleak period of time. The film successfully ties in so many elements of the wildness that swept the world then. Substitute oil for spice and the fiefdoms in the books are not that far thematically from the ones that dot the Middle East in current days.
