Coriolanus Competition has now closed

Thank you for your interest - be sure to check back in again soon for some more great competitions
from modmove!

A passionate political thriller, Coriolanus is an adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy. Set in modern Rome, it's the story of a banished hero who allies with a sworn enemy to take his revenge on the city.  Caius Martius 'Coriolanus' (Ralph Fiennes) is a revered and feared Roman General at odds with the city of Rome and his fellow citizens. Pushed by his controlling and ambitious mother Volumnia (Vanessa Redgrave) to seek the exalted and powerful position of Consul, he is loath to ingratiate himself with the masses whose votes he needs in order to secure the office.

When the public refuse to support him, Coriolanus's anger prompts a riot which culminates in his expulsion from Rome. The banished hero then allies himself with his sworn enemy Tullus Aufidius (Gerard Butler) to take his revenge on the city. Coriolanus marks Fiennes's directorial debut, and rounding out the powerhouse cast of actors are Jessica Chastain, Brian Cox and James Nesbitt.
Coriolanus has screened at Toronto, Berlin & London Film Festivals.

There are a number of things that stand in the way of A Million Ways To Die In The West from becoming this generation’s Blazing Saddles. Back in 1974, Blazing Saddles set a high watermark of bad taste, risqué humour and of pushing the boundaries of acceptable cinema comedy of its time.
